The expansive park is one of the walking highlights of the area and includes a historic hall and resident deer. As a place to visit, this puts the canal alongside the best parks and other public spaces in the country, and is a huge testament to all the hard work done by volunteers and our Canal & River Trust colleagues in keeping the canal in a great way. It was a cool Sunday morning when a small group of us met up at Torkington Park in Hazel Grove for this cycle ride out to Marple and New Mills.
